Call for proposals now open: submit your idea for OuiShare Fest 15

We invite you to get involved and help us build the program for OuiShare Fest 15. Share your ideas for concrete sessions with us till January 31

Since its first edition in 2013, OuiShare Fest has been an experiment of collaborative event organization. With the aim to create an event that is inclusive and co-designed with our community, we invite you again this year to get involved and help us build the program for OuiShare Fest 15. You have a great idea you would like to share at OuiShare Fest? There is a specific topic you are passionate about that you are an expert? A new type of session format you want to test? Here is your opportunity to build the OuiShare Fest program with us and meet early adopters and changemakers as an active participant of our event. We are looking for designers and researchers that want to share projects and methodologies, entrepreneurs willing to share their views and stories, as well as moderators and facilitators that have a great sessions in mind on topics related to the collaborative economy.

Last year, we received over 150 responses from our community to our open call, so we’re excited now to hear your ideas for 2015 to help us make the event as diverse as possible. >> See last year’s program>> Submit your idea for 2015 till 16 February

What’s new this year

This year’s theme is “Lost in Transition?”. If you attended last year’s Fest, you may remember there were no tracks, but moods (Co-Create, Connect, Debate, Inspire, Play) and #hashtags that we decided to experiment with to structure the program. In honestly looking back, we felt that we should take a more simple approach to the program architecture for 2015, and have thus collaboratively identified tracks. The list is still under finalization - and will probably be so until the very end - but this should make it easier to navigate the key topics of the collaborative transformation movement we will treat at OuiShare Fest. The #OSFest15 temporary track list features:

  • Sustainability and environmental impact
  • The potential of decentralisation
  • Philosophy and Culture
  • Capital, Ownership and Funding: what’s new?
  • “Is my (old) business concerned?”: transforming Corporations
  • The social question: addressing poverty, inequalities and exclusion
  • The third industrial revolution: a strategic design challenge
  • Distributing politics and regaining access to democracy
  • Working with robots and without jobs
  • Education for all and by all in a rapidly changing world
  • Building the true sharing economy
  • Beyond Globalization: connecting local territories and the global south

All these topics are widely discussed within the collaborative economy and society community at large and - most of the time - opinions on them range from overly enthusiastic to strongly delusional. That’s exactly the reason why we have chosen to focus on this list of topics: to find a place to debate and question them together, lead by our theme, “Lost in Transition?” Building on last year’s experience, we’ve also structured our formats more clearly. Here’s what you can expect: keynotes, short talks and multiple speaker sessions, as well as many formats where several speakers informally interact with smaller groups such as the UnPanel (an invention from last year) as well as Q&As and on stage interview sessions. Workshops (interactive sessions, hands-on sessions, hacking & making, learning by doing) will also be key this year as they were largely appreciated by last year’s attendees, but most of all, we are looking for more "experiences" (for networking with others or maybe our inner selves) and performances involving art, music and in general, new languages. Lastly, we are opening our call to “installations” to transform the festival venue. What type of installations? Some examples of unexpected contributions from last year are not only an amazing Photobooth, but also several pieces of open design garden furniture and a Solar and bicycle Powered Music box.

Want to participate?

Then fill out this form to share your suggestions for concrete sessions with us till 16 February. We especially encourage you to propose interactive sessions and new formats! If your proposal is selected, you will receive a 3-days pass for the event. >> Participate and see more informationWe look forward to your creative contributions!

What is OuiShare Fest?

OuiShare Fest is an annual event uniting the global collaborative economy community for three days of conference, co-creating and connecting. It is a three-day festival organized in Paris by the global think- and- do tank OuiShare, bringing people together from all over the world to debate, build and co-create the transition to a collaborative society. Each year the event gathers a diverse group of entrepreneurs and social innovators, non-profit and business leaders, grassroots activists and public officials and others interested in the current transformation in many industries and spheres of society toward more open, horizontal and distributed ways of organizing activities and access to resources.
